So this is what’s keeping me busy these past few weeks, other than working out the migration of my blog from free to self-hosted site (I can talk about this experience in another post), and of course being an employee by day and a mother by night. I’m trying to learn more about interior decorating, and I am so excited about it! I got myself included in an online Interior Decorating School and started to go through the first few lessons.
This decision came about two weeks ago when we were offered to move to a house–a House! After almost 2 years of being apartment renters, Yuli and I received an offer to move to a humble house near our place, which is owned by a family friend who’s also planning to move to a bigger house. Their family was gracious enough to offer their home to us first, and we happily accepted. Since then I have been popping my eyeballs out looking for wall paint palettes, floor tile designs, and basically every decor idea to bring to our new place. I hope I could finalize everything before we move, which we plan on doing by next month. Due to my excitement, even without any experience and knowledge at interior decorating, I tried to create a floor plan of the new space we’re renting. It’s not much but I think I captured every single space that needed decorating. I think our floor area is just about 40-50 square meters, but I’m sure it’s more than enough for our small family to dwell and call our home.
I just did it using Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint (I know–lame right?!). Anyway, I knew I needed to put some more icons to determine where the door or windows or other existing elements are, but I’ll get to that later. I am just excited to make some progress over the coming weeks, both on our moving and my interior decorating. Yuli and I are planning on visiting the house again by this weekend to see which repairs needed doing prior to our move. We may repaint the walls, as I was hoping to get light neutral colors, which thankfully coincided with Yuli’s taste. We may also redo the flooring and look for a functional design.
I can’t wait to share with you our experiences as we go along. If you have any tips for me as a first-time house-decorator, I’d be happy to hear your thoughts!
It's our first time to tag this boy along to a camp. Everything about having him was tougher. From choosing what to eat, to long hikes, to even taking good pictures. But this. Wouldn't trade it for the world. #sulit#thankyouaseansummit
